The Indianapolis Colts have announced on Wednesday that quarterback Peyton Manning underwent surgery to relieve pain in his neck caused by a pinched nerve.

The team says that the procedure was done Tuesday in Chicago by Dr. Richard Flessler.

It appears that the Denver Broncos are willing to part ways with wide receiver Brandon Marshall after tendering him with a first-round tender instead of a first and third-round tender on Wednesday.

On the other hand, Elvis Dumervil won’t be going anywhere as the Broncos tendered the linebacker with a first and third-round tender. The additional third-round tender means that Dumervil -- who had 17 sacks last season -- carries a $3.168 million price tag.

The New York Jets have announced that they will be parting ways with running back Thomas Jones on March 5.

With the Jets releasing Jones, the leader of the NFL's top-ranked rushing offense will become a free agent. On Monday, general manager Mike Tannenbaum said the team has already informed Jones and his representatives that they would be cutting ties with him once free agency opens.

According to the Washington Post, the NFL has sent over a proposal to the player’s association to implement the use of blood tests for HGH.

"Our position is that HGH blood testing has advanced to the point where we are taking steps to incorporate it into our program," Greg Aiello, NFL senior vice president of public relations, told The Post.

Despite this, the union is still opposed to the idea of blood testing, which will only add to the long list of things that the NFL and the player’s association will battle about during their ongoing labor talks.

On Tuesday, the Philadelphia Eagles announced they have released two-time Pro Bowl running back Brian Westbrook.

While the news that the Eagles will be parting ways with Westbrook is not unexpected, it still marks the end of an era for one of the Eagles greatest players ever.
